Slack, through an incoming webhook

In short

Lead alerts in 1Namecard send a Telegram message to the card owner and a Slack message to a channel the moment a lead or meeting request is saved. A follow-up e-mail goes to the visitor only if they ticked the consent box and you switched it on. All of it runs after the visitor has their answer.

What it does.

  • Message each rep on Telegram.

The card owner gets a message for every new lead and meeting request, with name, company, score, placement and a link. Each person opens the notifications bot, sends /start and saves their chat id under Telegram notifications on Account.

  • Post to Slack.

Paste a Slack incoming webhook address into Slack incoming webhook on Notifications. Each organisation has its own. It is shown masked after saving, and Test Slack sends a sample.

  • Choose who is told.

Send Telegram messages is the organisation's switch. Also notify owners and admins adds every owner and admin with a chat id. Each person can turn their own messages off.

  • Send after the visitor has an answer.

Messages go out after the form is saved. A failed send is never shown to the visitor and is recorded on Activity with the error text.

  • E-mail the visitor, with consent only.

When Send the follow-up e-mail is on, each visitor who ticked the consent box gets one e-mail after the form is saved. A meeting request gets its own wording with day, time and topic.

  • Write it once, with placeholders.

Subject and Intro take {{firstName}}, {{repName}} and {{company}}, and for meetings {{day}}, {{time}} and {{topic}}. An optional Sales sheet link, https only, shows under the button.

  • Preview, test and resend.

The page previews the HTML and plain text. Send test to my address sends you a sample. Resend email on a lead sends it again. Reply goes to the rep sets Reply-To to the card owner.

How it works in three steps.

  1. Step 01

    Connect the channels.

Paste the Slack address on Notifications. Each rep links Telegram on Account. Press the test buttons.

  2. Step 02

    Write the follow-up.

On Email, tick Send the follow-up e-mail, edit Subject and Intro, read the preview, then press Save e-mail settings.

  3. Step 03

    Check a real lead.

Submit your own card form with the consent box ticked. A Telegram message, a Slack post and the e-mail should follow.

Thanks for stopping by, Mia

Hello Mia,

Thank you for sharing your details at DataWorks Europe. Dana Reyes will be in touch about pricing for 20 reps.

You are receiving this because you asked us to contact you. Reply to stop.

Sent only to visitors who ticked the consent box.

Who it is for.

  • Reps on the stand

You hear about a lead while still next to them.

  • Team leaders

You want a Slack channel that fills as the show runs.

  • Marketing managers

You want each consenting visitor to get a branded thank-you.

Limits by plan.

  • Included: Alerts and the follow-up e-mail are on every plan.
  • Included: Slack needs an incoming webhook. For Telegram, each person links their own account.

What it does not do yet.

  • Not included: The follow-up is one e-mail, sent right after the form is saved. It is not a sequence, and nothing is scheduled for later.
  • Not included: It has no unsubscribe link. The footer says to reply to stop.
  • Not included: Alerts go to Telegram and Slack only. A signed webhook can reach other tools.
  • Not included: The Telegram bot is shared by the service, so the recent senders list can include people who are not yours.

Telegram lead notifications for each rep.

A Telegram bot cannot message someone who has never spoken to it, so each rep sends /start first. An admin can read the rep's chat id on Notifications, in the list of people who sent /start in the last 24 hours. The rep pastes it under Account.

The message names the lead, company, score with band, card and placement, then links to the lead. A meeting request adds the day, time and topic.

A Slack alert for every new lead.

The Slack post carries the same lines, in the channel your incoming webhook is bound to. Remove the saved Slack webhook clears it.

Follow-up email after a trade show, sent automatically.

The e-mail is plain, branded HTML in your organisation's name and accent colour, with a text version and no images. It ends with your legal line and a sentence saying why the visitor is getting it.

  • It goes only to a visitor who ticked the consent box, and only when you switch it on.
  • The button opens the rep's digital card. A meeting request also gets an add-to-calendar link.
  • If an e-mail cannot be sent, the lead is still saved and the lead's history notes it.

For what to say in a longer follow-up, read follow-up e-mail after events.

Questions about this feature.

How do I get Telegram notifications for new leads?

Open the notifications bot in Telegram and send it /start. An admin reads your chat id on the Notifications page. Paste it under Account, save it and press the test button. Then each new lead on your cards reaches you.

How do I get a Slack alert for a new lead?

Create an incoming webhook in Slack, paste its address into Slack incoming webhook on the Notifications page and save. Press Test Slack to check.

Does the follow-up e-mail go to everyone who fills in the form?

No. It goes only to a visitor who ticked the consent box, and only when your organisation has switched the follow-up e-mail on.

Can the visitor unsubscribe?

The e-mail is a one-off answer to their request, so it has no unsubscribe link. It says they can reply if they would rather not hear from you.

Try it on your next show.
