Add the domain.

   Step 1.

   Open Settings, then Domain. Your 1Namecard address is listed first and is always on.

   Under Your own domain, type a subdomain you own in Your domain, such as cards.yourcompany.com. Press Add domain.

   The page says "Domain added. Add the DNS records below, then press Check now." The badge reads Waiting for DNS.

   Step 4.

   At the company that manages DNS for your domain, add a CNAME record. Name is your subdomain. Some providers want only the first part, here cards. Value is the target the page shows, normally cname.vercel-dns.com. Use the copy buttons to avoid typos.

   Step 5.

   If the page also lists a TXT record, add that too. It proves the domain is yours and appears when the name is already known to another account.

   Step 6.

   Press Check now. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours, so repeat until the badge reads Live. The certificate is issued automatically once the record is found.

What changes once it is live.

The page says your domain now serves your cards. New QR codes, vCards and short links use it. Keep the CNAME record in place. Your 1Namecard address keeps working too.

Nothing you printed earlier stops working. QR codes and links with your 1Namecard address still open your cards. Only newly downloaded QR codes switch to the new domain, so print those once the badge shows Live.

If something is wrong.

• Needs attention means the domain worked before but DNS no longer points at us. Your cards stay on your 1Namecard address. Restore the record and press Check now.
• "Your organisation already has a custom domain" appears when you try to add a second. You can have one: press Remove first.
• The main domain is refused: "Use a subdomain such as cards.yourcompany.com, not the main domain itself." Names starting with www, mail and a few other common labels are refused too.
• On Starter and Team the page says "Your plan does not include a custom domain." Contact us to move to Business.
